I successfully tricked a handful of my friends that this gal on my tank top is me -- and yes, I suppose anyone with big donuts over their eyes/blonde hair could get away with it. Nevertheless I found it amusing. Took these rather grainy photos during an afternoon storm, which probably wasn't the safest idea, but I survived, and that's all that matters right?

I call this hairdo the just-got-out-of-the-pool-and-my-hair-is-a-gross-tangled-nest-that-I-have-zero-energy-to-fix look -- hence (yeah, hence*) the high bun + big earrings + pink lipstick, all used as a clever distraction. Attractive huh? I plucked this perfect summer dress off of a very high shelf at Forever 21. I love the easy wallpaper pattern and it has an adorable back, which is what sold me in the first place. But I will keep you in suspense until next time...

I snuck away to the beach for the weekend with a group of my favorite beach bunnies. I ended up with a little bit of a Rudolph nose, but it's a sacrifice I'll be happy to make. This salmon/peachy/tangerine orange color is a favorite for this time of year. It just screams summer, and I love that word.

feathers for lunch

Feathers seem to be all the rage right now -- feather skirts, feather earrings, feathers as hair extensions...As for me? I like feathers as a print (or charm) rather than the real thing. This outfit had a small makeover after I gracefully spilled water all over the jean shorts I had on before, but I prefer this look instead. Army green + camel + red happens to be a favorite color pallet btw. And, who knows, next week I might be sporting the feather trend a little differently. Perhaps avec Ke$ha. I'm pretty open-minded.
