Since buying this dress, I have worn it so many different ways: with pops of red, dressed down with gladiator sandals, layered up with a preppy blazer or a more laid back denim jacket. Is there anything better than versatility (and Fridays)?

Have a great one, TGIF!

I've been feeling the black and white lately.

When I had blonde hair I tried to stay far, far away from anything white (well, maybe not too far: evidence here + here). Even though I love the look, I felt that it just washed me out -- I have zero California blood in me that could help me not look painfully pale in white -- holla New England life.

But, ever since going brunette, I've become a magnet to all things white. Funny how hair can re-inspire your entire outlook on how you dress.

As my personal style evolves, I find that the way I shop changes. Obvious statement but listen: before I would find myself impulse shopping the second I saw a pretty print -- leaving me with a closet full of statement pieces and a tiny wedge of basics. Obviously setting myself up for I-have-nothing-to-wear syndrome. Not cool.

N0w-a-days I LIVE for the basics, and details are my new best friends. It's crazy, but I find myself wearing the same few pieces more and more. As a result, getting dressed in the morning is much more pleasant (and less messy -- aka less clothes thrown on my bed/sofa etc).

I think I've worn this top, jean, shoe combo a few times on my blog, and a million more IRL. Throwing on an investment piece like this sporty, but still girly cashmere jacket makes my new approach worth it. It's not only the softest thing ever with gorgeous notch and zipper detailing (um, Scottish yarn-makers realllly know what they're doing), but another basic I know I can mix and match to my heart's desire.

leo + red

Leopard + red go together like cocktails + Fridays.
And that's exactly where I'm wearing this look tonight.

gone to the dark side

Sooo, I'm a brunette! Some of you might have seen my instagram right after I made the plunge, but here fun little before and after shoot. It feels really (really) good to be back -- both to my natural hair color and to blogging.

off duty

Not my most innovative look, but something I would wear during the week for an easy day at work, and running errands. A girls gotta bundle up, it's getting cold over here!

easy like sunday morning

Sundays mean casual comfy. End of story. Cozy boots, an oversized shirt and comfy leggings are a go-to, no brainer, godsend (amiright?), especially after a busy weekend celebrating Halloween. Wore this while making an epic late-morning brunch with friends, and hunting for vintage furniture.

falling into fall

We're pretty spoiled with fall-ness here in New England. I usually flip flop from being super into it, to doing the minimum from year to year. This time? I haven't even gone apple picking, and missed leaf peeping by a week. But I've got cozy layers covered. These boots just make everything feel that way, and look startlingly, wonderfully similar to the 5050 (but for a million dollars less).
