the third piece | two ways

Great shoes? Check. Great bag? Check. Great scarf?
Totally check.
A few weeks back, I had the pleasure of meeting the founders of the coolest knit company in Boston: The Third Piece. These gals know their stuff - they make their own wool in beautiful earth tones, hand-knit all of their products with the help of a small team of knitting experts, and have caught the eye of some big name people (like Bergdorf Goodman), all while staying true to their longtime friendship.
I was excited to have the opportunity to style one of their beautiful handmade pieces - starting with the 'Beacon Scarf' (more styles to come..!). I love the versatility of this piece, and I'd be lying if I didn't love how warm it is. I've already worn this scarf both ways, a million times, and don't see a chance of stopping.

the perfect transition bootie

Good-bye sandals, hello booties! 
For me, finding the perfect transition bootie is like finding the perfect LBD. I want something that isn't fussy, but simple and classic, with a walkable heel. But most of all, I don't want it to feel like a heavy cold-weather boot...at least not just yet. 
These are from Skechers (shop them here!), and check all of the boxes off of my wish-list. They're classic and comfy. Plus they feel like I'm throwing on a pair of flats instead of boots. I'm secretly not ready to give up wearing my sandals on those warmer fall days.

Sooo, I'm a brunette! Some of you might have seen my instagram right after I made the plunge, but here fun little before and after shoot. It feels really (really) good to be back -- both to my natural hair color and to blogging.

summer tote

For the past few years or so, I have been searching for a great summer bag -- something over-sized and a little bit slouchy, but with enough structure to still keep things sophisticated. I think I've finally found everything I've been looking for in this Baggu tote. Love the raw edges and easy caramel color, and even the tiny stamped logo -- a perfect combination that just feels like summertime.

those busy days

This week has been quite crazy and quite exciting, and as a result quite hectic. I turned 24 this Monday (eek!) and started a new job on the same day. It's been a week I've been striving for this past year, so seeing my hard work finally pay off is such a great feeling. Definitely a week I'll always remember, and a time where easy yet frilly dresses are a must.

Love it or hate it, this fluoro yellow-green is one of my favorites. It adds a playful edge to more subdue colors (love it with the camo), and would look perfect with summer whites. 

I always look forward to taking this bag out when the weather starts warming up -- its just such a great statement piece especially when paired with matching neon cap toes -- something about it just confirms that winter is gone, gone gone. And I'm so excited that the Cambridge Satchel Company has introduced this color to their classic music bag shape -- perfect as an oversized clutch or a fun bag for work.

I wore this to Walter Baker's summer soirée a few weeks back and have found myself throwing it on again and again since. I love anything that can handle a pair of girly pumps and an oversized hair bow, yet can be toughened up with a leather jacket for fall.
