It's no secret that Etsy has some of the cutest jewelry, accessories, art, home goodies (you name it!) on the web. I love finding hidden gems on there that no one else likely has, and in turn support local, independent designers. 
Which is why I was so excited when I was recently introduced to 9th and Elm - a flash sale site that cherry-picks the best  fashionable, handmade designs, allll in one place. 
I had so much fun discovering new designers and shopping through their goodies, that I almost fainted when I found these monogrammed chucks. They became my very first pair of converse, and a brand new shoe OBSESSION that's all my own.

love these pants

A peek into what I wore running errands a few days ago when the weather was gorgeously spring-like, and have been practically living in these pants ever since. So much so that people are starting to notice, but I can't help it! It's kind of crazy (and surprising) how versatile polka dot pants are. I found them at Uniqlo for a serious steal, and anticipated wearing them only a few times, with a few pieces (they are the perfect substitue for J. Crew's $135 pair). But, man was I wrong. I love when that happens -- hello new favorite pants.

I finally bought a pair of the perfect cherry red heels just in time for sandal weather to be over -- typical. But their sale price makes it OK. I tend to use red as a neutral, especially with classic blue and white. This week has been nonstop, running between NYC and Boston, I am off to the city again tomorrow for a whirlwind 24 hours. Such a dream come true, but so exhausting! The things us girls do for fashion.

This skirt is such a statement piece that I wear it too much -- it seems to make EVERYTHING instantly  playful and ladylike. Mixing it with more polka dots seemed like the natural thing to do, and I am digging the contrast of the abstract, splatter dots with the graphic ones.

For the most part, I have always kept away from the "matchy-matchy" look -- it's just not my personal style. However, I've been warming up to that approach, and am really loving the look of matching patterns, especially skirts/pants + shoes. It achieves such a fresh look without trying too hard, and is best if the top is kept simple and classic. 

(PS sorry for the J. Crew overload, they are killing it with their patterns right now).

I'm cheating on all of the stripes in my life -- I just can't help it -- polka dots have taken over. This outfit almost didn't happen when I almost gave up on this skirt. The original hem paired with the high waist and full skirt felt almost dowdy for everyday looks, but how cute is the print? Especially paired with smaller dots? Yes please. Thankfully, it completely transformed after chopping off a few inches, and I can't wait to wear it all year long.
