For the past few days I've decided to dust off my glasses, which I normally reserve for bedtime and morning routines, and wear them during the day. And I'm totally digging the nerd-chic vibe they add to this simple (almost) black look.

Meet my new absolute favorite pants via J Crew. My pant wardrobe was truly lacking -- with only one pair of jeans I actually like, and a handful of cheap leggings. They are just as relaxed as any of those, yet they have a tailored ease I've been searching for. Pretty sure I'll be grabbing a few other colors in the near future...

Went on a spontaneous trip to NYC this weekend -- so spontaneous that I didn't even have time to over pack. Along with playing tourist to all of the city's holiday magic, we stumbled upon this colorful wall art off Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn. I couldn't help but snap a few shots (and you know how much I like to mix patterns -- stars + stripes + robots) -- and I definitely couldn't help paying a visit right around the corner to Catbird.

red boots

Exactly one year ago, I blogged about playing in a different pile of yellow leaves while I wore a different pair of rain boots. Boots that are now covered in holes and rendered as useless in any puddle, hence my replacement -- in red this time. A color I am loving for fall, red is perfect for brightening up these gloomy days and neutral outfits

charcoal

I snapped these pictures a few weeks ago before I cut off my hair, and before it started to get dark at 4pm. Some of the easiest layers in charcoal and lighter hues of grey with my ongoing obsession of collard tops and these velvet Zara loafers.

mishmash

Threw this outfit together as quickly as possible and ran out to enjoy the weather we've been having. Its kind of a mixed bag of different textures -- pleats, silk and sheepskin -- as well as patterns and colors. But it has the perfect hippie vibe that I like so much.
