late afternoon

I wore this to Walter Baker's summer soirĂ©e a few weeks back and have found myself throwing it on again and again since. I love anything that can handle a pair of girly pumps and an oversized hair bow, yet can be toughened up with a leather jacket for fall.

bright city

I'm back in the big city for about five minutes until I head home again. I did manage to check out the last bit of sale action at Bloomies while I'm here though (will be sharing my finds soon!). Something about NYC always makes me want to dress up -- I love the contrast between the bright neon and lady-like lace, especially for a hot city day.

on repeat

Ever since this post, I have been wearing these Madewell flats and Forever 21 dress together nonstop. Nonnnstop. They have become major wardrobe staples -- I'm obsessed.

americana

As much as I wish I had 200+ dollars to spend on Equipment's shirts (because I love them and their library of prints/shapes/fabrics), for now I would rather spend my 200+ dollars elsewhere. Maybe someday this mindset will change, but for now I will settle for it's less expensive cousin and window swoon shop 'till I drop. Or else I would be wearing said shirt everyday for six months -- and that's just boring.

juicy couture newness

That was a long absence!!! I've been hiding away in NYC for the past week, and surprisingly didn't snap one outfit picture. But I did score these awesome snakeskin sandals via Juicy Couture -- I'm obsessed with the oversized front strap, and the shoe box is pretty cute too. What better way to start a Monday than with new shoes?

beach beauty

For beach days, my beauty regiment is very low key.
Here are some of my must-haves found at Amazon.com:

FACE
When sitting in the sun, the most important products I use for my face are a lightweight face sunscreen, moisturizing lip balm, and waterproof mascara (guilty!! -- I do wear some makeup to the beach)

1. Neutrogena Clear Face Sunblock Lotion SPF 30 $8.50
2. L'Oreal Paris Volumnious Waterproof Mascara $7.50
3. Rosebud Salve $7

HAIR
I love the look of windblown hair, and to achieve this I turn to Bumble and Bumble's Surf Spray. I'll spray it before a day at the beach, or when lounging by the pool. I also use a ton of conditioner after jumping in the water -- my favorite is Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle. It gives you beautiful, soft hair. Also, bobby pins are a must have for pinning back annoying strands.

1. Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray $24
2. Bobby Pins $3.50
3. Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner $3.90

SKIN
I am a huge sunscreen addict when I go to the beach, and reapply constantly. For achieving a healthy golden glow, check out Maui Babe -- a beach girl's best friend -- you'll look as bronzed as the bottle after use.

1. Maui Babe Browning Lotion $16
2. Burt's Bees After Sun Soother $13
3. Philosophy Here Comes the Sun Sunscreen $19
