the chance of a lifetime







Contests are so not me. I get that nervous picked-last-in-gym-class feeling every. single. time. And my initial reaction is no(ooo) way, even if my gut reaction is curiosity. 

But last week when the ladies at Wallis approached me to join their competition for first 'U.S. Blogger Ambassador' I said yes (I said yes! Eek!). A once in a lifetime, chance of a lifetime opportunity I just had to grab, and I need to bug you guys for help!

layers in lace





A basic chambray dress is such a wardrobe staple for me -- I consider it just as essential as the LBD. It's an instant outfit no-brainer that can be layered with different patterns and textures, or worn alone just as easily. But chambray in neon pink is even more fun, especially when paired with my favorite, no-fuss (lace) LBD.

two ways: black, white and red








Sometimes I want to wear something simple, with a pop of color. Black and white, with a pop of red seems to always be my go to combo -- with my favorite Coach bag or this too-pretty-to-pass-up flower statement piece, this is my kind of easy dressing from this past week.

bejeweled





I absolutely adore this skirt -- even more so with bare legs (extremely pale legs, but I can deal). Such a fun statement piece with an adorable balloon shape that makes me feel kind of fancy. All of the colors makes it easy to pair with bright colors, or mix with bold stripes, but today I decided to keep it classic with black and white. And it's (finally) on sale over at Kate Spade right now. Double score.

improvised kaftan







I have always had a major crush on kaftans -- especially these -- but haven't had much luck scouting one for my own. So I decided to improvise. 

This J.Crew dress caught my eye back in January. Tried one in my size and it was ok, nothing too special for the price. Fast forward a couple months, and I tried it again -- but two sizes larger -- and kind of loved it. This boho print just makes this extra-slouchy shape look less frumpy, and more of what I've been hunting for: an idea kaftan/dress hybrid ready for bare legs and sunset beach strolls.

I've got a major crush on lucite heels. Had my eye on a slightly higher version, but these perfectly shaped/ideal heeled sandals stole my heart. If I won the lottery (and had a time machine to travel to June) this is what I would wear this weekend. Sometimes it's fun to pretend the internet is your closet, and ignore those annoying three digit price tags. All I know is this: lucite sandals will probably become my first purchase for spring.

The men's section is forever my favorite place to find great, easy-to-wear shirts. Perfect for days when you hit the snooze button one too many times, and need to run out the door like five minutes ago. It's super easy to throw on and layer with other patterns for that polished, yet perfectly causal look. Although neither my brother nor my bf would be caught dead in this, I can't stop, won't stop borrowing from the boys.

monogram in emerald






With all of the attention emerald green has been getting this season, I felt the need to try it out for myself -- pairing it with mint, and shades of cream. It's nice to take the simple route for a change after piling on the prints and play with the little details like golden bows, a crisp white bangle, and a very chic emerald monogram necklace.
