rain is falling

Usually, my natural reaction towards a rainstorm is to don a pair of stretchy leggings, a cozy blanket and to curl up with a good book or two. This of course cannot be complete without an extensive buffet of yummy snacks on the side. However, this afternoon’s drizzle inspired me to veer off that well trodden path of habit and dress up a little for nature’s showers.

I selected a printed dress from French Connection, which I have had for years and years. I love the lady-like silhouette and muted colors, and I feel this is one of my wardrobe staples. Not only can I dress it up or down in an array of different styles, but I tend to wear it year round. With it, I picked a vintage green belt and plenty of silver rings, as well as some simple Mary Jane wedges to match. Paired with a fun alligator clutch and a red lip, I think I have achieved a look that is sure to make cloudy days sunny for you.
