I have never been a huge fan of skull adorned clothing and accessories – unlike my boyfriend who would stop at nothing to shower this symbol all over his wardrobe. I have always thought it was too harsh to be incorporated into my taste, especially because I favor a more girly style. However, something has come along and greatly revolutionized my opinion on this boney fashion.

I came across Pamela Love’s summer/fall 2010 jewelry collection and all of a sudden skulls were all I could think about. Her brilliantly quirky assembly of animal remains offers a much-needed shock and intrigue any girl (or boy) needs in their possession. Like five minutes ago. It offers a more unusual update to the modern human skull that we see everywhere. Unfortunately for me, I find the prices as more than unobtainable – don’t you think?

After much consideration, I decided to scour the Internet for cheaper alternatives and I was certainly not let down. There are a multitude of similar (or identical) substitutes that I have happily put on my wish list. Included are bird, mammal and even prehistoric skeletons that will bring you back to nomadic times in a more updated way. I can’t wait to snag my own, (and perhaps a few for my boyfriend ;) )! Let me know what you guys think – too creepy or absolutely right?
