white heat

Hello heat wave, how kind of you to stop by. Everyone is enjoying your deathly warmth and scorching rays. Trust me. What could be better than swimming through the unbearably thick air and continuously wiping beads of sweat away with slow, heavy movements? It is just a delight to begin blooming with perspiration the second our bodies hit the pavement. And what a joy it is to imagine pools of cool, thirst-quenching water in the distance and, when foolishly you run up to it, you find it was nothing but a funny joke! It has been real, really, but kindly take a vacation and go somewhere else.

This weather is completely unbearable to say the least. Piling on layers of clothes or jewelry is not my cup of tea in these instances. Rather, I prefer to select airy and comfortable clothes to wear. That way I can keep myself from fainting when I see strangers walk around in long pants and turtlenecks – really!? I love this top and really appreciate its scoop back and lovely eyelet texture. It is very unique and classic, and the back is a little unexpected (can you tell I love cut out backs yet?), plus it was on sale. Need I say more? The skirt’s dainty pattern goes quite well with the top, as does this lovely necklace from Forever 21 (for $5!!). I have been wearing it everywhere. Now all I need is a hand-held fan and a personal misting assistant. Anyone?
